This three-part professional development series begins July 8th and occurs the 15th and 22nd. Idaho Public Television designed this series to help K-12 educators support students’ mental and emotional wellbeing. Offered for professional development credit through Idaho State University, the course addresses:
1. Substance abuse and mental health: Gain insights into the relationship between student substance abuse and mental health, and learn strategies for recognizing the signs and providing support.
2. Vaping: Learn practical tools to identify, prevent, and address vaping behaviors in the classroom.
3. Trauma and trauma-informed classrooms: Understand trauma’s impact on students, and learn how to create trauma-informed classrooms that promote safety, trust, and resilience.
