What to expect during a virtual class

At Central District Health, we use the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking curriculum for our adult, in-person and virtual class sessions.

We typically teach this curriculum in 4 sessions, for 2 hours each. We cover topics such as: making a quit plan, learning about nicotine replacement medications, and practicing coping skills to manage cravings.

The class will be held live with a Tobacco Cessation Specialist and other participants, where talking, interacting, and participation is necessary.

This is not a recorded webinar-type class.

Will I be able to watch a recording of this class later?
No, this is a live, interactive, video conference class with a tobacco cessation specialist, who will work with you on, setting a quit date, making a quit plan, and coping skills to conquer your cravings.
Will I have to talk a lot, or can I just listen, like a webinar?
This is an interactive class, where interaction is very important for you to get the help that you need from the instructor.
What if I am a minor (under age 18) and would like help quitting vaping or smoking?

My Life My Quit is an excellent quitting resource for people under the age of 18. It involves multiple virtual check-ins with a tobacco cessation specialist, and text support too! Learn more about My Life My Quit here: My Life My Quit
